“Edelweiss”
Kindergarten “Edelvais” from town of Velingrad represents a municipal kindergarten, located in a picturesque place of the West Rhodopes Mountain, Bulgaria. It was established in 1997 with a capacity of 106 children aged from 3 to 7 years and with four full-day age groups. The building was built under a typical kindergarten project and has four age groups, a gym, own kitchen for preparing the food for the children, own geo-thermal heating system; STE(A)M classroom-children’s laboratory for teaching topics and problems related to Renewable Energy (functional models of wind turbine, hydroelectric power plant, solar heating system and solar system), Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection, Science and Arts. The yard has separate playgrounds for each group, equipped with facilities for sports and games of children, basketball, volleyball and football fields, and a playground for children’s education in road safety. The kindergarten also has a branch in which 110 children between 5 and 6 years of age are being taught and prepared for school education. This branch operates in a half-day mode.
In order to provide more opportunities for development of its kids, „Edelvais“ offers the following additional courses to its children: studying of English language; Group for folklore songs and dances; Cheerleaders group.
The kindergarten has a staff team which consists of high quality professionals with proven experience in the field of pre-school education who is taking care for children. The staff consists of 24 employees (director, pedagogical experts, support staff members, psychologist and total of 3 resource teacher, speech therapist and psychologist giving the additional support for active inclusion).
